St. Edward the Confessor

Edward, St. Edward's grandson called the Martyr, was born in 1004 in Islip, near Oxford. His father was King Ethelred II, called the discouraged. Canute IV the Saint reigned in Denmark from 1080 until his assassination in 1086. It was the natural son of Sven II King of England. He succeeded his brother Harald III Hen.
